Congratulations to Ivy and Natalie for organizing this symposium at the Annual Meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology last week in Atlanta!  Ivy and Natalie presented their exceptional research on unintended consequences of attributing discrimination to implicit, rather than explicit, and were joined in the symposium by Keith Payne (UNC) who presented fascinating work on group level/structural predictors of implicit bias and by Patrick Forscher (U Arkansas) who presented important, albeit disturbing, research on the Alt–Right, reminding us of the importance of research and theory on explicit forms of racial (and other) bias.
