PhD student, Natalie Daumeyer is a finalist in the Graduate School of Arts and Science’s 3-minute thesis competition. Her dissertation research examines consequences of attributing discrimination to implicit, rather than explicit, forms of bias. She finds that perpetrators are held less accountable when their discriminatory acts are said to be born of their implicit bias, even when there is evidence to suggest their biases are held quite consciously. You can view her presentation here.

Two chapters of her disseration have already been published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin!

Congrats to Natalie on this impressive work and such effective communication of your science!
